About

About Nexus Nova.

Nexus Nova builds and supports Nova Guide, a digital adoption platform for NHS clinical systems.

1

Who we are

Nexus Nova was founded in 2022 and is based in London. It is a digital transformation consultancy that supports NHS organisations across the UK with training and adoption for their digital transformation programmes.

Nexus Nova built Nova Guide because adoption support is missing from many digital transformation programmes. After go-live, an organisation can be left with a workforce that is not yet using its new system confidently or efficiently.

2

Why it matters

Four pressures on an EPR programme.

2.1Training fades
Classroom training often happens weeks before go-live, and much of it is forgotten by the first shift.
2.2Staff rotate
Rotating doctors, bank and agency staff and new starters often miss the sessions entirely.
2.3Systems change
Each upgrade changes a workflow, and retraining a whole workforce is slow and costly.
2.4Service desks are stretched
Service desks and floorwalkers answer the same how-do-I questions again and again.

How Nova Guide is built

These are the rules the product is built to. Each one is enforced in the code or the build, and each is described in more detail elsewhere on this site.

3.1Points only where certain
The targeting engine is never more confident than it has earned. Where a control cannot be identified beyond doubt, the step is shown as lost, and a single wrong match fails the build.
3.2Clinical risk first
Nova Guide is developed under DCB0129. A change to targeting, step advancement, approval, rendering, delivery or withdrawal is treated as safety-relevant, and risk ratings belong to the Clinical Safety Officer alone.
3.3Stopping is easy
Withdrawing guidance needs no approval and reaches open screens within about a minute. When withdrawal cannot be checked, guidance stops.
3.4No patient data
Analytics are built from events that have no field for page text, typed values or web address parameters, so the code itself keeps the rule.
3.5UK data residency
Nova Guide’s database, file storage, application services and keys are defined in Microsoft Azure UK South.
3.6A guest in the application
Nova Guide draws in its own isolated layer, leaves the application’s page as it is, and keeps its guidance layer under 50 kB compressed.
3.7Accessible to everyone using it
Nova Guide never moves keyboard focus, never traps it, and announces each step to screen readers. It is built to WCAG 2.2 AA.
3.8Honest states
A figure that cannot be measured says so. A screen without guidance says so. A refusal names its reason, in words a clinician could read out to a service desk.
